Gabrielle Rankin

Gabrielle has specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy for over 20 years, working in the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and highly regarded private clinics in south west London. She has helped people of all ages with just about every musculoskeletal problem you could think of!

Her approach is adapted from integrative medicine – she considers every patient as an individual with their own unique conditions, needs and circumstances and uses the most appropriate interventions backed by scientific evidence to help people reduce their symptoms and to regain and maintain their optimum health and function. Integrative physiotherapy goes beyond the treatment of symptoms to address the causes of the problem.

Gabrielle is passionate about providing the most effective physiotherapy possible and to achieve this undertakes extensive continuing professional development and research. Her areas of interest are in a diverse range of scientific disciplines but focus on the connection between the body and the mind and the amazing ability of both to change.

Gabrielle’s life changing discovery a few years ago was the fascinating world of fascia and myofascial release (MFR)! She found it helped her own back problems much more effectively than any other type of physiotherapy and immediately began to learn how to use MFR in her own clinical practice and investigate the research about fascia. She is increasingly amazed at the benefits MFR achieves and the range of conditions it can help.

Gabrielle feels that current trends in both NHS and private healthcare to be ‘cost effective’ and to promote ‘self management’ have become too extreme with physiotherapy treatments often being severely rationed or cut.

"I have developed Redesign Physio to deliver a unique combination of MFR treatment, training and advice offered in a relaxed and unrushed environment."
